Would you believe that many websites are not designed in the best way? Well, it's true. Here are some of the common mistakes (which I hope to avoid):

1. The text done with graphics rather than simple text. This makes websites slow to download and makes it difficult or impossible for search engines like Google to find what's on your website and so get you visitors.
2. Fixed width designs with no thought to those with bigger monitors.
3. Sites designed only for Internet Explorer. There are other browsers you know !
4. Fixed text sizes, which make it difficult for those with big monitors or poor eyesight.
5. Layouts which fall apart when the text size is changed by the surfer.
6. Not checking the website for errors in the coding.

Have a look at this website, and those in my porfolio. Try changing the size of the browser window. Does everything move around nicely to fill the window ? Try changing the size of the text and see what happens (select 'View' and then 'Text Size'). Now go and try the same thing on some other websites.

I try hard to create websites that suit all visitors. Whatever the size of their monitor, the computer & browser they use, and however good or bad their eyesight. That way I maximise the number of visitors happy to visit your website.
